Club’s Hammer & Swine Expression of Interest

Welcome Clubs to Swinburne Student Union’s Hammer & Swine, the only fully licensed bar operating within the Hawthorn Campus precinct.

 

Steps for Clubs booking events in the Hammer & Swine

  1. Complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form with as much information as possible.
  2. Once received, the Hammer & Swine team will be in contact to finalize the details and provide a formal quote for your event
  3. This quote must then be approved at a minuted Club meeting to ensure Swinburne Student Life can provide funds for the event
  4. Once the Club meeting has finished, complete a formal request for funding on the Student Life website
  5. Once Student Life have approved the funding they will inform the Hammer & Swine who will be in contact with you to confirm your event
  6. Most importantly: Have fun at your event!
    NB- If your event requires a temporary licence, the Hammer & Swine will need at least 5 weeks notice of approval of funding to apply for the temporary licence.

 

Standard operating hours include:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 12:00pm to 7:00pm
Thursday 12:00pm to 11:00pm

Extended hours are available by application for special events and functions.

Clubs' Hammer & Swine EOI Form

  • Please note that events starting or finishing outside of our regular trading hours will require a temporary liquor licence, which is the responsibility of the club to cover. A temporary liquor licence costs $120
  • A basic staff presence is available during normal operational hours. During events and functions, the Hammer & Swine may need to engage extra staff and/or security (where appropriate) subject to the size and nature of the event. Please Note- Security requirements are determined by the University and the cost of security is the responsibility of the club to cover. 1 security guard for 1 hour costs $50
  • Catering and Drink Options

  • Catering options can cost as little as $5 per person for basic finger foods through to $25 per person for gourmet BBQ’s. Catering options can also be mixed and matched for example, Platters and BBQ. We are also happy to discuss other options to meet your requirements
