Swinburne Student Union Legal Services (SSU Legal) provides free and confidential legal advice, information, referral and education for all current enrolled student of Swinburne University with a focus on Student Visas and Migration Law.
All legal advice is provided by qualified lawyers, through partnership between Swinburne Student Union and Eastern Community Legal Centre.
Currently Swinburne cannot provide formal advice on issues around Student Visas and Migration Law, which is where SSU Legal steps in.
While the focus is on Migration Law, SSU Legal can also advise students on legal matters such as:
- Fines / Infringements
- Debt / Bills / Consumer problems including Scams
- Tenancy / Housing
- Employment Law including Sexual Harassment and Bullying
- Motor Vehicle accidents (not TAC)
- Stalking & Family Violence
- Family Law
- Reporting Sexual Assault
- Discrimination
- Minor Criminal Matters
- Victims of Crime Assistance
